The Bible's Buried Secrets PBS

Did any of you watch the Bible's Buried Secrets on PBS? It was disturbing. It is just another opportunity to bash the Bible and those who believe in it. There is an interesting scientist, Dr. Gerald E. Aardsma, who has a very compelling website. http://www.thebiblicalchronologist.org . Aardsma is an intelligent researcher who can harmonize both science and the Bible. I highly recommend his resources. He has a new book about the Exodus as well.

Why should the universe have the fundamental properties that it has?

This question "Is there any evidence of God?" on the home page, and the supplementary question above in this thread topic, prompted me to post this:

There is one possible answer to that question. It can be explained by the theory of the "Multiverse", put forward as suggested in the text, by Martin Rees. It is a highly debatable point that this theory is any less believable than the belief in the existence God, as there is some evidence to suggest that this may indeed be possible, and answer some of the effects that we observe in our universe.

The theory goes:

Instead of a single universe containing one set of physical properties, there could be an infinite number of parallel universes with different sets of physical properties. It follows then, that at least one of those universes will have the physical properties that eventually generate sentient beings that ponder on their own origins.

This pushes the divine causal effect back another step, back to before, if there ever was a "before", the Big Bang.

This answer is based on two scientific theories, to which there is some supporting evidence. The danger of attempting to reconcile religion with scientific theory, is that the latter never stands still, and is reminiscent of the late Professor Coulson's "God of Gaps" criticism of Christians and other religious groups, who try to fill a temporary absence of objective knowledge, with God.

Is man not unique in that God created us not just to simply exist, but to be his children? He created us that we might have a personal relationship with him.
Like a father knows each of his children, are we not all therefore special and unique to him?

Hey

I think evolution and creation are complimentary. If God wants to use a process like evolution, that's up to him. I mean he had to do it somehow right? Why couldn't he pick that as a process to create?
